My Pink Stamper - Blog Hop Challenge

Robyn has been partying it up with her family and her best friend Karlee this week - and is hosting a blog hop. The challenge is to make anything "Birthday." I can always use some simple cards - that are for a last minute birthday gift.

This card is a 4/25X4.25 square
The stamp sentiment is from Stampin' Up
I used Only Orange ink pad from Stampin' Up
I used various paper from my stash - this is all from a Provo Craft Slab
The ribbon is a value ribbon I picked up at Michaels
Then of course, I popped the sentiment up with some dimensionals

One of the tricks I like to do to add some finish is to run my
ink pad along the edges of the paper to give it more definition.
I also like to add coordinating paper inside the card - making the
inside pretty too!

I made a coordinating envelope - just a little big however.
Keep in mind, square envelopes cost a little more to mail
through the postal service - you can always use a rectangle
envelope on your square cards.
I hope you enjoyed this simple card - and consider making some yourself to keep on hand. Better yet - make a bunch, bundle and give them to someone at your local senior center. Grandmas can always use extra cards!

Have a super day,
Fancy Nancy

DL.ART 1 YEAR BLOGAVERSARY

This card is to celebrate the FIRST birthday of friends of ours. While we only have boys - I LOVE making girly cards - and this one is fitting for sweet Lila.  I am sure she has the cutest shoes for any little one year old girl.  She is a special girl - and I wanted to make her a special card.

When making this card, I used:
  • Paisley Cricut Cartridge - for the boots
  • Formal Occassions Cricut Cartridge - for the frame behind the boots
  • Locker Talk Cricut Cartridge - for the "1st" lettering
  • DCWV papers
  • various ribbon from Michael's Arts and Crafts
  • Crop-o-dile corner Chomper
  • Recollections extra fine glitter in Citron

In LOVE!

It's so much fun to create cards for friends. Paul and I did the premarital counseling for this couple - Matt and Megan.  (Well, the card is for Matt and Megan) I thought this card was cute and reminded me of the cake topper from my own wedding - also used in my parents wedding and my grandparents wedding.

  • I used Peachy Keen Stamps for the faces - love that their are a variety of expressions on the "Everyday Character Face Assortment"
  • Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut Cartridge
  • DCWV "Everyday" papers

Less formal wedding card

This is for some friends who just got married in a sweet ceremony in their living room. Congratulations Don and Michelle!  We were so happy to be there to celebrate with you!!

I love a challenge...and I LOVE making cards!!

Mother's Day weekend was a full one - speaking at a couple of events, church, taking my Mom and family to the beach - but if I could get a FREE day, I'd love to make cards and scrapbook. The beach was wonderful....we laughed and played - even my mom!  It was a GREAT day and I am so thankful for my dear husband, and our adorable teenage boys.

One of the blogs I follow, My Pink Stamper - at www.mypinkstamper.com hosted a special challenge day with 12 crafting challenges.  The Day was for National Scrapbooking Day.  There were challenges every hour, along with video tutorials and ideas.  I am so thankful - even though I missed the posting by about 10 minutes.

It forced me to just get into a project.  I didn't have time to sit down but for a couple of hours.  I was able to complete the cards you see below.... thanks Robyn for the challenges - I now know I don't have to sit and stew over an idea - but just get the ball rolling!

Happy Birthday Friend!!
